About the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society

The Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society was formed on October 22, 1863 as the Historical Society of the German Reformed Church in the United States, and after the union of two traditions changed its name to include the former work of the Historical Commission of the Evangelical Synod of North America.

The mission of the Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society is to stimulate and cultivate interest in the continuing legacy of the Evangelical and Reformed Church.

To accomplish this, we will:
  1. Collect and preserve historical material;
  2. Make information and resources accessible to all;
  3. Provide engaging educational opportunities;
  4. Foster cooperation with other interested organizations;
  5. Ensure the Society has the optimal infrastructure and funding to support its ongoing mission.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE EVANGELICAL AND REFORMED HISTORICAL SOCIETY

It is through support such as yours that we are able to continue the work of preserving our artifacts and history as well as making them available to historians, researchers, and genealogists.

The Evangelical and Reformed Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your generous financial donation.
